From Fullback to the Front Row

As the title indicated, this memoir is woven around Jim Halls rugby league career from the four stone sevens in Grade 3 primary school, to partnering the late and great Arthur Beetson in the front row of football at its toughest.

It covers Jims three professional careers – professional footballer, professional police officer and professional lawyer – during these careers he was usually at the centre of things and always found something amusing.

This book is compulsory reading for those interested in the financing and politics of rugby league in Australia during the famous “Super League Wars” of the 1990s when Kerry Packer and Rupert Murdoch head-butted each other over television rights and leading to the eventful formation of the NRL.

From practical jokes by bored coppers to hilarious episodes on the NRL judiciary hearings, all football fans will have a good laugh at the anecdotes sprinkled through this very Australian memoir.
