Al Sarrantonio spent decades building his Orangefield cycle a linked series of novels and novellas set in a fictional upstate New York town where the membrane between the living world and whatever lies beyond it grows perilously thin each October.Hallows Eve is the central novel of that cycle: the story of Corrie Phaeder, a man whose career and relationship have collapsed simultaneously and who finds himself on a train back to Orangefield, the one place he has spent his adult life avoiding.

Hallows Eve is among the finest expressions of American small-town life and the very particular dread that comes with the shortening of the days. Sarrantonio was a winner of the Bram Stoker Award, a finalist for the World Fantasy Award, and the editor of some of the most significant horror anthologies of his era, including999: New Stories of Horror and Suspense. He died in January 2025 at the age of seventy-two, making this signed limited edition a permanent record of his hand on the page.

Fine. Presenting as new.
